Ocean Suite
The Ocean Suite is on the top floor of the property and is accessed by climbing your own private stairwell. The original architect designed the home in the shape of a lighthouse, so the Ocean Suite is a circular space on the top floor with exposed overhead wooden beams.
The Suite has an ocean view and access to a sprawling wraparound private deck, with chairs for taking in the gorgeous sunset views.
It also has a king-sized bed, large windows, an armoire, an en-suite private tiled + stone bathroom with a vintage shower. The Ocean Suite also has its own hot water heater, set up with complimentary sleepy-time tea and mugs, lovely for evening teas on the deck.
This room is perfect for travelers who need more space since it’s the largest room on the property.
Mountain Suite
The Mountain Suite is in the back of the property and has one queen-sized bed, a large window overlooking the mountainous hills, an armoire, an en-suite private stone bathroom with a rainforest shower, and access to your own private patio off of the bathroom with wooden seating to take in the views. This Suite was specially designed by Sara Elise and is perfect for guests who want to feel immersed in light and gorgeous views.
The room gets sunrise light through the sprawling picture window in the en-suite bathroom, but there are eye covers available in The Tienda if you prefer to sleep in.
Jicaro Room
The Jicaro Room has one king-sized bed, an armoire, a small screened window (with a view of the garden), and access to a shared tiled + stone bathroom directly outside of your room.
The Jicaro Room also serves as the Work Fellow room, so if you'd like to apply for Work Fellowship and exchange an offering for a further reduced lodging rate, see here.
Overflow Space
Apogeo Guest House is a boutique hotel concept space that can host up to six guests at a time. If you’re interested in bringing a larger group to Apogeo Guest House, we partner with an overflow space (less than a five minute walk away), so that we can host up to an additional twelve guests (double occupancy). At both spaces, we are able to offer similar amenities, unparalleled views, and exceptional service.

You’re welcome to walk the hills surrounding the property and use our provided list of shuttles and taxis to navigate to and from the property, the various beaches, and town, or you can hire a 4x4 car rental (we offer complimentary onsite parking).

San Juan del Sur is a small fishing village and beach town on Nicaragua’s southern coast. The name “Apogeo” is the title of a renowned collection of poems by Gioconda Belli, a Nicaraguan feminist poet & activist, and literally refers to the climax, peak, or highest point in the development of something. Belli comments "In this book I wanted to celebrate the apogee, the zenith .... that fundamental moment of existence where integrity and physical beauty coexist with wisdom and maturity of intellect."
Apogeo Guest House is a space for artists, seekers, visual storytellers, creatives, foodies, and aesthetes and serves as both an homage Belli's art and activism as well as the culmination of our collective planning and work together. At the Guest House, our aim is to create open space for our guests to tap into apotheoses within themselves.
